things that i love: the inspiration behind my fine art women’s portraits.

This is my art.
It’s how I tell my story, one photograph at a time — if you want to listen.

things i love

These are the things I love — the ones that move me personally and the ones I’m proud of.

They’re not all about people. Sometimes it’s a face, sometimes it’s a place, sometimes it’s just light doing something beautiful when no one’s looking.

I’m drawn to people, places, and things that feel honest. A cracked wall with history in it. The quiet before a storm. A woman lost in her own thoughts. Those moments remind me why I create in the first place.

Every image here comes from how I see — my eye, my truth, my heart. Not everything is perfect, and it doesn’t need to be. It’s real. That’s enough.

Thanks for being here.

things i love
this was my first time building an image from pieces — a tree from one place, a figure from another, imagined together long before i found them. i drove around looking for the right light, the right tree. it felt like chasing a memory i hadn’t lived yet.

May we all find the quiet moments that hold the most love, and see the poetry unfolding around us.

A woman in a long white dress walking through a grassy field near a blossoming tree with flowers.
A woman in a white dress sitting on a rocky beach facing away from the camera, with her hair blowing in the wind.

things i love

the one beneath the fruit tree lived in my head long before it existed —
a composite stitched from light, a dress, a place i drove past and couldn’t let go of.

A black and white photo of a girl in a flowing dress standing on a grassy hill with wildflowers, looking toward the sky or water.
A girl with long hair, wearing a light-colored dress, walking in a foggy or dusty environment with blurry, indistinct background.

The quiet moments are the ones that hold the most love. Watching her is like watching a poem unfold.

little obsessions. passing fixations. the things that move me lately.

Black and white photograph of a woman with motion-blurred hair wearing a light-colored dress and a black camisole underneath, standing against a dark background.
A black and white photo of a woman with long, curly hair, wearing a satin top with thin straps, holding her arm up, obscuring part of her face.

A young girl in a white dress and floral crown walking through a bright, grassy field during sunset in black and white.

The sunlight came down like a waterfall.

I photographed this more than ten years ago — a friend’s daughter, in a field of oak trees, weeds, and wildflowers.
I wanted it to feel like a dream, and it did.
She wore a little ballet dress and a head wreath I made for her. The light poured through the trees just long enough for me to catch it.

you probably saw this on my welcome page in b&w, but it’s pretty spectacular in color. it’s the best feeling when you know you nailed the shot. this one’s totally my style — taken at night in avila beach. i nearly jumped out of my skin when i edited it. love.

whoo hoo! this one for sure blows me away. shot this inside a british phone booth — and i love anything british.

still can’t decide which one i love more.

People gathered outside a rustic barn for an event, with some standing near barrels and others near a vintage truck, during sunset.
A vintage ice cream truck at an event with people around, sunlight creating a backlit scene, and a woman in a floral dress reaching out to the truck, which has slogans like 'Ice Cream is COOL' and 'We all Scream for Ice Cream'.
A woman wearing high heels and a floral skirt standing next to a man in white pants, near a chalkboard menu at an outdoor event.

this moment mattered to me — simple as that.

a behind-the-scenes look at how i photograph women — honest, unguarded, and true. from san luis obispo to santa barbara, i work with women who are ready to be seen.

the morning blues — avila sycamore springs
just one of those mornings where the light behaved, everyone laughed, and i remembered why i love what i do.
